Today, I’m working on my second round of edits for Second Chance Sam, a m/m contemporary romance novel. Well, I say m/m but there is third guy who finds his way into the relationship. The new book is due out Jan. 15th, so it’s too early to get the cover art, but I can’t wait. I always love seeing that cover for the first time. Here is a little more info:
Jan. 15, 2013Second Chance Sam
Tristan and Cory have been together forever and thought they always would be—until Sam comes into their lives.
In a fit of jealousy, Tristan commits an inexcusable act of anger. Unable to trust his own temper, he leaves Cory although it breaks both of their hearts. Even if Cory can forgive him, Tristan can never forgive himself.
Cory is determined to prove that Tristan has nothing to fear and that, together, they can find a way to put the past behind them—until an old guilt of his own arises to weaken his resolve.
Somehow in this morass of jealousy, remorse and grief, Sam must find a way to reunite the couple he inadvertently tore apart. But the ghosts of Tristan’s difficult childhood threaten to keep them separated despite Sam’s best efforts.
Now Sam must be more than a friend to the two if he is going to bring them back together. He’ll do whatever is necessary, and if his plan happens to lead to a bit of fun for all three of them… surely no one can blame him for enjoying it just a little.
But if Sam succeeds, will it mean the end of his own chance for happiness?

I wanted to share the terrific post by Heidi Cullinan, author and President of the Rainbow Romance chapter of the Romance Writers of America. In it, she addresses the new policy of the More Than Magic contest hosted by the Romance Writers Ink Chapter of RWA. In their rules, they now state: “Note: MTM will no longer accept same-sex entries in any category.”
Take a look at Heidi’s post to see how the Rainbow writers are responding. She says it better than I ever could.
— Update: The contest has now been cancelled. See the RWI statement at the More Than Magic contest page.

Big Cypress Crossroads is 17% off now at Amazon, so if you’ve been thinking about it, now is your chance. Better yet, the Fictionwise code this week is 012012 for 35% off most books. I just bought a few from my TBR list. I’ve been saving up my list and getting more from Fictionwise lately since I discovered I could put in my Kindle email address and get my ebooks emailed directly to my Kindle out of Fictionwise. Very convenient and cheaper than Amazon when you have a code.
Another note about the Fictionwise code – it is usually good for a week and is the date of the Friday before in format mmddyy. The discount varies and there might not be a code every week but it is sure worth a try, especially if you’re an avid reader like most romance fans.

‘Tis the season, and my first holiday novella is now available from Loose Id. Patchouli for Christmas is the story of a hard-working NYC event planner with an aversion to relationships and a rather cranky but well-meaning patchouli scented modern day hippie. Can they overcome their differences and bring each other joy this holiday season? Read more, including the full blurb and an excerpt.

I love Holiday cover art. Here is the cover for Patchouli for Christmas, coming from Loose Id on Dec. 6th – this coming Tuesday!
Michael has a business to run and no time for a relationship. Artist and do-gooder Jude only wants to be left alone for the holidays. But they can’t deny the heat that erupts when they meet. Can the magic of Christmas bring these opposites together?
Cover art by Anne Cain.

I just found out that Friday Night Jamie, my first book, will be going to print. I don’t have a date yet, but I’ll post it when I do.
It is true that I am one of those people who believes that ebooks will someday completely replace print books. However, I know we’re not there yet. So yes, I did a little happy dance when I found out the book was going to print, because there’s still nothing like holding that physical copy in your hands.
Update: Print now available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Help! I’m on a complete Josh Lanyon kick and I can’t seem to stop. I’m supposed to be working on the edits for Patchouli for Christmas, my holiday novella, but I can’t stop reading. Plus, I just read all Mary Calmes “A Matter of Time” novels. *sigh* I need to focus!
