Reviews for Friday Night Jamie

Several reviews are in for Friday Night Jamie. They’re pretty decent, so I’m happy about that, considering it’s my first attempt at creative writing since I won a short story contest in the eighth grade — at which time I decided that writing was waaay too much work and didn’t do it again for — well, a really long time. Never you mind exactly how long.
So here are a few links if you want to know what folks are saying before you part with your hard-earned money. Believe me, I know how that is. Like most writers in this genre, I’m a reader and a fan before I’m a writer. I’ve spent far too much money on books myself. But it’s so much fun!

Just signed a contract for a novella with Liquid Silver Books. The Professor’s Assistant is a male/male romance set in a steampunk/sci-fi sort of world. Lots of fun to research and write in that steampunk setting. What is steampunk, you ask? Read the Wikipedia entry, it’s pretty detailed. As soon as I have a release date, I’ll post it.  – Bren

Cool app for book lovers

I just downloaded the iPhone app for the Dear Author and Smart Bitches Trashy Books blogs. It’s called To Be Read. It has reviews, free reads, and the ability to build your own reading list. It’s a lot of fun to browse through when you have those few extra minutes throughout the day, like when you’re sitting in the dentist’s office or waiting for your husband to get his butt out of bed.

Fav quote of the day

– Heard this last night and it just made me laugh.
Batman to his fellow super-hero, Booster Gold:
“I’m not going to explain the intricacies of time travel to a man without a library card.”
From Batman: The Brave and the Bold
 – Is it just me? Perhaps one has to be a librarian to fully appreciate it?
