The Honorable Mentions are up for the Rainbow Awards. I’m happy to see Second Chance Sam made the list. We’ll have to wait until Tuesday to see which of the Honorable Mentions make it to the Finalist phase. In the meantime, I’m checking out the other Honorable Mentions and adding a bunch to my TBR list on Goodreads. Should keep me busy for a while.
Five stars from The Romance Reviews for Second Chance Sam. A Top Pick. “ Bren Christopher takes you on an emotional journey with highs and lows, making you laugh and cry both for and with these characters. You root and hope with fingers crossed for all of them to find their way back to the person they love the most.”
I know it’s hard to think about Christmas in the middle of Summer – especially here in rainy, sweltering Florida – but this the time of year Christmas stories have to be submitted. I’m happy that Loose Id has accepted my follow-up to Patchouli for Christmas. At the end of that 2010 Christmas story, Jude and Michael had just started dating. Now we’re checking in with them a couple of years later to see how their relationship has progressed – or not!
Yes, I meant to get the story out for 2012 and not 2013, but I’m a slow-as-molasses writer. Or, as someone I know likes to say, “slower ‘n molasses headin’ uphill in January”. Although I actually blame my lateness on Tristan from Second Chance Sam – he’s a pushy little thing and insisted on getting his story out first.
The AllRomance eBook rebate means you can get Second Chance Sam for $3.50 – that’s about half price. I’m not sure how long the special will last, but that’s a pretty good price. So if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time!
Price drop. Second Chance Sam is 17% off now at Amazon, so if you’ve been waiting for a sale, here ya go. eBooks on Amazon usually drop after the first week, so when something new comes out that I want, I like to put it on my wish list then check back a week or so later.

Tristan and Cory have been together forever and thought they always would be–until Sam comes into their lives. Now Sam must do whatever is necessary to reunite the couple he inadvertantly tore apart – and if his plan happens to end with him in the middle, he’s not complaining!
Yaay cover art. I love seeing that cover for the first time. I think Mina Carter did a great job portraying the three main characters and their relationship to each other. What starts out as friendship turns into an inadvertant love triangle and then evolves into a menage – but doesn’t end there!
Here’s a little more info:
Tristan and Cory have been together forever and thought they always would be—until Sam comes into their lives.
In a fit of jealousy, Tristan commits an inexcusable act of anger. Unable to trust his own temper, he leaves Cory although it breaks both of their hearts. Even if Cory can forgive him, Tristan can never forgive himself.
Cory is determined to prove that Tristan has nothing to fear and that, together, they can find a way to put the past behind them—until an old guilt of his own arises to weaken his resolve.
Somehow in this morass of jealousy, remorse and grief, Sam must find a way to reunite the couple he inadvertently tore apart. But the ghosts of Tristan’s difficult childhood threaten to keep them separated despite Sam’s best efforts.
Now Sam must be more than a friend to the two if he is going to bring them back together. He’ll do whatever is necessary, and if his plan happens to lead to a bit of fun for all three of them… surely no one can blame him for enjoying it just a little.
But if Sam succeeds, will it mean the end of his own chance for happiness?
There’s still time to get to Starbucks and get your card for the free music download of the week – Same Love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Or, if you have the Starbucks app, it is easy to download from there. Now, I will confess that I am not too up on pop music, except what I hear in Zumba class (love me some Pitbull – he makes me laugh). So I don’t recognize most of the artists in the Starbucks downloads. But since I got the Starbucks app, it’s so easy to download them that I have been trying more new music.
Due to my lack of being up on the latest music, I had no idea what to expect when I downloaded this, and was consequently surprised to hear a pro-marriage equality song. There is an article at NPR about the artists and their music. So go get your copy while it is still free! I believe Starbucks changes the free download on Mondays so you’ve got until Jan. 6th or so.
